Cheap tyres that die early are expensive. Cost per km tells you what each tyre actually cost to run—not what the bill said at purchase.
Summary
Tyre cost/km = tyre cost (purchase ± retread − scrap value) ÷ kilometres the tyre ran.
Formula
Cost/km = Net tyre cost ÷ Km run on that tyre
Net tyre cost ≈ purchase price + retread cost − scrap/resale value (if any).
Example
Tyre bought for ₹18,000, ran 60,000 km, scrap ₹1,000 → net ₹17,000 → cost/km ≈ ₹0.28/km.
